Dave from OntairoRated:![]() by dave from canada Written 1 year ago | Stayed at the hotel from Jan 23 to Feb 6. Hotel has a good location. Close to downtown. Hotel staff very friendly. Has 2 resturants and the buffet. Good food with a decent selection. Hotel has 2 pools both with Bars.
If you are a Beach person then this is not the Hotel. Very short beach and it is gated. But you can hang out on the wall overlooking the beach and still get the beach ambiance. Wonderful stay. |
Just OkayRated:![]() by Karen Hudson from Canada Written 2 years ago | I was at the resort from January 15th to the 22, 2010.
This hotel is very clean and the service is great. The pools are well kept and the snack bar has awesome burgers and wings. The buffets is not so good, when something is gone it is gone. Also they have almost the same food everyday dinner, is always fish chicken and pork lunch seems to be left overs from the evening before. Breakfast had the best varity of eggs, cereal, toast but never any sausage or bacon. If you want to sit on the beach do not go to this hotel, they have a gate to get to the ocean and very rarely have it open. To do any activities you do have to travel by cab which is cheap. |
A Good TimeRated:![]() by Wire from Canada Written 2 years ago | The wife and I were very pleased with the Pelicanos. Food was good, staff was friendly, rooms were clean and the grounds were meticulous. Handy to get around P.V. as all busses stop a block from the hotel. Would definitely go back there again. We felt very comfortable there. |
Pleasure@PelicanosRated:![]() by Randy Sykes from Canada Written 2 years ago | April 24- May 3/09
Outstanding time! All the staff were wonderful. We were a family of five with three kids, early to late teens, the "Grand All inclusive" was the way to go as they can get snacks and refreshments any time they please, also includes club side of facility. Buffet food good****, breakfast buffet ex*****. PoolsideBBQ**** Burgers, Dogs, Fries Nightly entertainers ***** Most Taxis can't transport five people look for the larger wagon ones or the bus works fine and cheap! |
Terry and Lori from AlaskaRated:![]() by Lori Baker from usa Written 3 years ago | We just returned from 2 weeks at Plaza Pelicanos. What a great experience!!! We were in a corner unit of the "time share building". We had a beautiful unit with two gorgeous full size bathrooms, a full size kitchen with granit countertops, a wrap around deck, etc.
Upon entering our room, we noticed two complimentary white robes, with slippers along with a plate of fruit and a welcome letter. Each day the maids twisted towels into different things: an elephant, two swans in a heart, bunnies, etc. Attention to detail was obvious. We were treated great and will definitely return again soon. (I'm very hard to please). |
2nd visit and still loving itRated:![]() by Mr and Mrs N. Prison from Canada Written 3 years ago | We went in 2005 and then again on Nov 17th 2008. The people and the hotel were just as good if not better.
We loved the Pergalas restaurant the best as the servers were absolutely the best. We cannot say enough about the people that work at the Pelicanos. We always make sure to tell everyone about the great time we have there. |
Very impressiveby henry b valderrama from usaWritten 3 years ago | Very good service, you can spend all day in the pool area and not be bored. My wife and I liked it so much we purchased a time share unit.th The twins age 11 were very impressed with the area as whole. |
Karen MifflinRated:![]() by Karen Mifflin from Canada Written 3 years ago | If you are expecting a four star accomodation you will be disappointed. The staff are most friendly and courteous. You can only have one bottle of water for your room for the whole week!! The beach is almost non existent they tell me since the hurricane. There is a terrible odour in the rooms I was in which they covered the drain with a plastic plug when I asked about it. There is a drive for membership in their time share but they don't call it a time share. They said one and a half hours so I bit to see what it was all about and had to be agressive to escape after two and a half hours. In the dining room getting a drink is a challenge. It seems as though there is an attempt to conserve as drinks aren't available there unless you ask and then they bring about six ounces of your choice beverage and have to be agressive to get another. This hotel is tryng very hard but it is not a four star and when you pay for a four star I think you should get one. |
Beautiful MexicoRated:![]() by Brian from Canada Written 3 years ago | We stayed at the Grand Pelicano's(2) Feb07-14 2008. Everything was fine clean pools, clean rooms, great staff, good food and nice selection. The location is great because its only $5 to $7 dollars for a cab ride downtown or to the marina. The grounds are well kept and its a nice little walk from one hotel to the other. The entertainment was good. I would go back in a heart beat. Bring the vendors on the beach a coca cola they appreciate it.... |
No help for the sickRated:![]() by Dan Little from Canada Written 3 years ago | I had eaten only at the hotel for the last few days of our stay and got sick the last night there. The hotel did call a doctor for me first thing in the morning and the doctor said I had food poisoning. He gave me a shot and some antibiotics and I was fine to travel the next day. The hotel would not offer any compensation and charged the full rate for an additional day. i also had to fly home by regular airline so lost my return charter fare plus was out of pocket for the return flight, doctor and meds. About a $2000.00 lesson. |
