Ameca River Bridge Collapses

According to the latest report of the municipal authorities of Banderas Bay, access to the movement of vehicles over the new bridge linking Nayarit and Jalisco has been closed from 04:30 hours on Tuesday August 31, 2010 , while near the old bridge fell, rescuers both Bay and Puerto Vallarta, are still searching for the missing, while rescuers are hospitalized for medical evaluation.

On the closure of vehicular access, municipal authorities made the decision not to take risks for those who transit at that point. They are even waiting for specialized personnel of the Ministry of Communications and Transport (SCT), Ministry of Roads and Public Works Ministry of Nayarit.

The instruction is to conduct an assessment of the bridge structure, once the study will be reopened access to new account.

Federal and State Preventive Police are diverting vehicles coming from north to south by Federal Highway 200, on the roads of Guadalajara-Tepic-Compostela. They report that the bridge fell down and ask them to return. The idea, officials say, is that no roads conglomerate.
