The Nautical Extravaganza continues with plenty of water sports and marine culture activity. The adrenaline will be running through the many events such as the J24 class regatta, windsurfing and the annual Banderas Bay Regatta, as well as plenty of luxury and elegance present with the Latin America Boat Show.J24 CLASS There will be ten runs over five days with the most popular class of yachts in the world. The leaders of the J24 will face off between March 6 and 13 with some of the world's fastest boats here at Marina Riviera Nayarit, located in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. There will be ten competitive races and two descartes, one after every five races, to help to determine the winners from among the crews that have already confirmed their participation from ten countries so far, including two world championship teams and three American champions. To ensure a race with the high degree of competitiveness, participation has been restricted to only 70 vessels. This show down will also determine who will be the Mexican qualifier crews for the Central American and Caribbean Games. The J24 Class is the most popular in the international sailing competition, since the same functions as a high performance boat competition for recreation. WINDSURF The exponents of this sport take advantage of the waves and wind off the beaches of Bucerias, a place sure to fill the sails between March 10 and 13. During the competitions, action will be divided into four categories: Youth Olympic class, the RSX Olympic class, the Formula Experience class and the open class. Ten races with two descartes will be held to determine the top three places in each category. BOAT SHOW The Latin America Boat Show will be held for the second time in Mexico from March 11 to 15, this time based at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. During the exhibition, visitors will see over 200 vessels from the most internationally renowned manufacturers among including Brunswick Corporation, the global leader in the manufacture and sale of boats and marine engines. Recreational boats, yachts, boats specially equipped and designed for fishing with fast outboard motors and the popular inflatable boats; all that plus accessories and supplies provided by 14 companies will be present. BANDERAS BAY REGATTAAdrenaline and big emotions will make for a spectacular end to a month of the Nautical Festival with the Banderas Bay International Regatta. The festival, now in its 18th year, has established itself as a classic on the waters of the Riviera Nayarit, so this 2010 has been designed specially with the fun of the participants in mind. Thus, the competition will include all classes and awards for vessels designed for the coast, catamarans and open-water vessels. The Vallarta Yacht Club in Nuevo Vallarta has hosted international races in the past and is the host of this race that prides itself on having activity for every class of vessel.
