| Sound the bell! Puerto Vallarta is climbing into the ring hoping to beat back a bad economic season and attract more tourism to the region. This event is part of the several programs to attract tourism to Puerto Vallarta, which anticipate an influx of seven thousand fight spectators. The prices for tickets are $200 pesos in Zone B, $250 pesos in Zone A and $500 and $1,000 pesos ring side. Tickets may be purchased at Plaza Genovesa Local 39, at Plaza Caracol, and at the Convention Center box office or through www.ticketmaster.com.mx Prior to the start of the fights, there will be unique Vallarta cultural entertainment on the esplanade of the International Convention Center. It will be attended by Valente Casillas, winner of the Golden Palms 2008-2009, who will delight the audience with a concert. Also, Alicia Gonzalez, who imitate Paquita la del Barrio. Lovers of electronic music will enjoy the music from local and Guadalajara DJs. The esplanade of the Convention Center will also feature the bars: Señor Frog's and Christine, as well as the Señor Frog's rock band. Food cannot be overlooked, with an area setup where you can eat everything from Mexican snacks to more sophisticated gourmet dishes. Likewise, national and international franchises are selling their products. It is important to note that entry to the esplanade of the Convention Center prior to this event will be free. THE FIGHT FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP The stellar fight of the night stars the Veracruz boxer Tomás Rojas and Everardo Morales "El Zihua" from Guerrero, who will be facing him to take home the belt for world champion in the super-fly category of the World Boxing Council (CMB). The fight will be 12 rounds. Tomás Rojas is a boxer who has fought against the best in the world, including Jorge "El Travieso" Arce, who lost for about 2 years in the sixth assault, after he had demonstrated sufficient preparation to deal with a boxer like "El Travieso". Perhaps the most anticipated fight of the night by the Puerto Vallarta public Vallartan Marco Nazareth "El Tejano" and Omar Chavez, the youngest son of boxing legend, Julio César Chávez. From well-known family in Puerto Vallarta, "El Tejano" once fought against Omar Chavez and was defeated. That is why this July 18 rematch carries hints of revenge. The local fighter should surely benefit from the significant local support. The revenge, as we are beginning to call the expected battle, is something that "El Tejano" has been waiting for and wanting, up to this point in his career, it will be the most important fight for him. MORE FIGHTS Also on the bill for July 18, are contests between Rodrigo Guerrero (Mexico City) and Luis "Titi" Maldonado (Mexicali), as well as Roberto Álvarez (Guadalajara), and Francisco Sierra (Nayarit). Other local boxers will participate in five additional fights to complete the bill. Among the personalities who will be present is Julio César Chávez, who will serve as analyst on the telecast. Also confirmed is the presence of boxer Antonio Margarito, who is highly appreciated by the Mexican public. Also attending as guests will be Marco Antonio Barrera and Ulises "El Archi" Solis. Likely we can also expect the presence of Jorge "El Travieso" Arce, though this is still not 100% confirmed.
